A pivotal bout in the UFC’s light heavyweight division will go down in the main event of Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night card at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The card is the second of three during an ambitious eight-night stretch for the UFC after becoming the first major American sport to return to action amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Former title challengers Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira face off in hopes that a strong performance could lift them to a second opportunity at Jon Jones’ 205-pound title. Teixeira enters with a three-fight win streak and has been fighting smarter with age of late at 40 years old. Smith, meanwhile, comes into this clash off a 10-month layoff following two surgeries on his right hand.
